Sasha Pierce uses tessellations as the foundation on which she explores the complex relationship between repeating geometry and the material process. Perspectival geometry is silkscreen-printed in repeating units. These shapes are then meticulously cut, taped together, and folded into a dense spatial configuration. Geometrical diagrams are translated into optically disorienting kaleidoscopic compositions that imply three-dimensionality.
